The desolate, long drive between Albuquerque, NM and Denver, CO, gives a person an appreciation for any interesting objects to look at. It was a pleasant surprise to find a brilliant passive solar rest stop outside of Colorado City, Colorado.

Solar Flowers at the Parachute Rest Area

If you’re ever driving along I-70 in Colorado, you might see some spry solar flowers. Located on a somewhat desolate stretch of Interstate 70 in Western Colorado, the photovoltaic flowers are a welcome sight.
